How Speed Cameras Can Prevent Accidents
Speed camera studies in the U.S. have shown that these devices are able to reduce crashes and injuries by 20-25%. In Arizona, car accidents decreased by 44-54% for speed cameras with a trigger at 76 miles per hour.

The way speed cameras work is by sensing how fast a car is going and if the car exceeds a certain speed limit, a picture is taken. The cameras are expected to operate during school days from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Before this, only 20 school zones were allowed to have speed cameras.
